While data is shining a light on the severe health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic within the black community, we must recognize that the impact of this crisis on black entrepreneurs will be equally if not more devastating. Already capital-starved small businesses led by entrepreneurs of color are the ones least likely to receive government stimulus. Without a lifeline, they will not survive and any gains that the black community has made toward building wealth through small business ownership will be eradicated.
The Making of Black Angels campaign was created to encourage greater participation within the black community in angel investing and throughout the capital ecosystem. During this three-part virtual conversation, we will share our strategy for collective action to support black entrepreneurs through this time of crisis.
